Question 402897: What similarities and differences do you see between functions and linear equations. Are all linear equations functions? Is there an instance in which a linear equation is not a function?. Create an equation of a nonlinear function and provide two inputs

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The two are similar as they basically describe the same notion or idea, but they are different in that they use different notation and the two don't completely overlap (see below)

Are all linear equations functions? No, consider the linear equation x=5 which is NOT a function (since it fails the vertical line test)

Create an equation of a nonlinear function and provide two inputs

Say we have the nonlinear function f%28x%29=3%2F%28x-2%29. Let's now input the values x = 0 and x = 5

x = 0: f%280%29=3%2F%280-2%29=3%2F%28-2%29=-3%2F2

x = 5: f%285%29=3%2F%285-2%29=3%2F3=1
