2x+9y=24

subtract 2x from both sides
-2x+%2B+3y+=+0
2x+%2B+9y+=+24
Now just add these equations
12y+=+24
y+=+2 answer
3y+=+2x
3%2A2+=+2x
x+=+3 answer
