Question 1073747: 4y=-4x+8
2y=-8x-8
find if these have no solution, infinite or one solution.
Would you divide the first by 4y and the other one by 2y?? Is it no solution?? Can someone show me how to work it out? Thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can multiply eq. 2 by 2 and set the two equations equal to each other since they then both equal 4y.
-4x%2B8=-16x-16
12x=24
Solve for x, then use either equation to solve for y.
This is a case where there is one solution (ie the line intersect at one point).
