SOLUTION: Need help solving this equation (substitution)
4x-2y-8=8y-6x-2
3(x-y+1)=3y-2x-9
My algebra teacher gave us the answer, x = 6 ; y = 7, but I can't get to that answer as I try

Thank You Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056) (Show Source):
I think you copied the problem wrong. For
if the -8 on the left side of the first
equation were +8 instead, then the solution
would be x = 6; y = 7. Try changing the -8
to a +8. If you still can't get that
solution, tell me in the thank-you note
form below, and I'll get back to you by
email.
4x-2y+8=8y-6x-2
3(x-y+1)=3y-2x-9
