1 Burt's Burger Barn sold 495 hamburgers today. The number sold with cheese was half the number sold without chesses. How many of each kind were sold?
2 A company added a new oil thank that holds 350 barrels of oil than its old oil tank.Together they hold 3650 barrels of oil.How much does each thank hold?
3 In any triangle, the sum of the measures of the angles is 180.In ABC < A is twice as large as
4 If an isosceles triangle, there are two sides, called legs, with the same length. The third side is called the base.If an isosceles triangle has a perimeter of 345 cm and the base length of 85 cm,what is the length of each leg? Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
Let represent the number of cheeseburgers. Then must represent the number of regular burgers. Add 'em up:
Just solve for
Let represent the capacity of the old tank. Then must represent the capacity of the new tank. Add 'em up:
Just solve for
Can't do the third one...you left off part of the information. However, you do this one just like the two previous ones. Express the size of each of the angles in terms of a variable that represents the size of one of them, then add the expressions setting the sum equal to 180. Solve.
The perimeter of any polygon is the distance around the outside of the figure, that is, the sum of the measures of the sides. So, if the base of the isosceles triangle is 85 and the perimeter is 345, you subtract 85 from 345 leaving you with the sum of the measures of two identical things -- just divide by two.
