Question 152353: I had another one before that i got but I don't get this one. I know that 1 Foot per Second = 0.3048 Meters per Second, but i don't know how to use it to find my answer. The question is:
Show and explain how to convert a speed in feet per second into meters per second?

Here's one way to do it:

We know that 1 foot per second = 0.3048 meters per second. So if you want to know how many meters per second there are in 6 feet per second, simply multiply both sides by 6

6*1 foot per second = 6*0.3048 meters per second

6 feet per second = 1.82898 meters per second

So there are approximately 1.82898 meters per second in 6 feet per second.

Here's another way to do it:

Once again, let's say that we want to find how many meters per second there are in 6 feet per second. So take 6 feet a second and multiply it by the fraction like this

Either way you'll get the same answer. However, I've seen the second method used more since you're able to create more complicated expressions.
