Question 152353: I had another one before that i got but I don't get this one. I know that 1 Foot per Second = 0.3048 Meters per Second, but i don't know how to use it to find my answer. The question is:
Show and explain how to convert a speed in feet per second into meters per second?
If u could help me i would be very grateful! Thank You

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Here's one way to do it:

We know that 1 foot per second = 0.3048 meters per second. So if you want to know how many meters per second there are in 6 feet per second, simply multiply both sides by 6

6*1 foot per second = 6*0.3048 meters per second

6 feet per second = 1.82898 meters per second

So there are approximately 1.82898 meters per second in 6 feet per second.

---------------------------------------------------

Here's another way to do it:

Once again, let's say that we want to find how many meters per second there are in 6 feet per second. So take 6 feet a second and multiply it by the fraction 0.3048m_per_sec%2F1_ft_per_sec like this

6%280.3048m_per_sec%2F1_ft_per_sec%29=1.82898m_per_sec

Either way you'll get the same answer. However, I've seen the second method used more since you're able to create more complicated expressions.
