In this video lesson I explain how to divide complex numbers. When we multiply, we already have the worked out process of "FOILING," but what do we do when we divide complex numbers? The first step is to multiply the top and the bottom of the fraction by the complex conjugate of the bottom of the fraction. This is the same as multiplying by 1, which doesn't change anything, so it's allowed. The bottom part of the fraction will simplify to a real number, so after you are done multiplying out on top and bottom, the only thing you will be dividing by is real- which is not a problem.
