EDIT: Correcting a mistake:
Undo everything that was done to I, and do the same thing to both sides.


Additive Inverse of U;
Multiplicative Inverse of 0.5;
Square Root of both sides.
Multiplicative Inverse of w%5E2;
The formula for I should be done now.


What that means, is that to solve for I, perform these steps:
Add -U to both sides of the equation;
Multiply both sides of the equation by 1%2F0.5;
Multiply both sides of the equation by 1%2Fw%5E2;
"Take" or find the square root of both sides of the equation.
Simplify if necessary.
You should now have the formula for I.
