You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The amplitude of y=a*sin(x) and y=a*cos(x)
represents half the distance between the maximum and minimum values of the function.
Amplitude = abs%28a%29
Let b be a real number. The period of y=a%2Asin%28bx%29 and y=a%2Acos%28bx%29 is given by
Period=2pi%2Fabs%28b%29
you are given:
y+=+1+%2B+sin%28+x%29+ ...............compare to y=a%2Asin%28bx%29 and you that a=1 and b=1
then, since amplitude= abs%28a%29, we have
amplitude= abs%281%29=1
and, since b=1
Period=2pi%2Fabs%281%29=2pi
