Question 34016: Hi. How would I figure out the surface area for a right square pyramid with a length of 6.5 cm and the base being 2.5 cm?
I'm a little confused because on each triangular surface, it says 2.5 cm on each half. Does that mean I need to add them for each side, equalling 5 cm on each side?
Thanks

Question 36273: HI. Here is my problem:
Michico and Patricia are going to play a spinner game. These are the rules:
a) When it is a player's turn, she spins both spinners.
b) Then she adds the two numbers that the arrows point to.
c) If the sum is odd, Michico wins, even if it was not her turn.
d) If the sum is even, Patricia wins, even if it was not her turn.
Patricia tries a test spin first. Here is what she spins: The sum from the first spin is 3, because 3 + 0=3, Michico wins. Michico says, "I like this game. I have a better chance to win than you do." Patricia says, "No, I have a better chance to win than you do."

Question 36276: Here is the problem:
Suppose you buy a new car whose advertised average mileage is 25 miles per gallon. After driving your car for several months, you find that its mileage is 21.4 mpg. You phone the manufacturer and learn that the standard deviation of gas mileage for all cars of the model you bought is 1.15 mpg. Does it appear that your car is getting unusually low gas mileage? Explain your reasoning.
