Question 57538: Solve the inequality, express the solution set in interval notation and graph it. Anyone know how to approach this one? Thanks!
5x-2 <7
5x-2 are surrounded by absolute value signs. Hope that is clear enough! Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
|5x-2|<7
When you isolate the absolute value and it's < (less than) the other side it's an "and" equation. You can solve it this way.
-7<5x-2<7
-7+2<5x-2+2<7+2
-5<5x<9
-5/5<5x/5<9/5
-1 :<--I don't know what I did to get that -1 there, ignore it.
The interval notation is:
(-1,9/5) you can also use the decimal form: (-1,1.8)
<------(=======)----->
-3,-2,-1,0,1,1.8,2,3
Happy Calculating!!!
