If x>0 y=x
If x<0 y=-x
y= |x+3|+1:
if x>-3 y=x%2B4
if x<-3 y=4-x
y= |x-1|:
if x>1 y=x-1
if x<1 y=-x-1
y= (|x|-2)/(x-2):
if x>2 y=%28x-2%29%2F%28x-2%29=1
if x<2 y=%28-x-2%29%2F%28x-2%29 This NOT valid for x=2, as it is impossible to divide by zero.
