put this solution on YOUR website! solve the equation
|0.1x - 0.2| = |0.2x - 0.4|
There are two possibilities. Either:
Case 1. The expressions inside the absolute values are equal
or
Case 2. One of those expressions is -1 times the other.

Case 1.
0.1x - 0.2 = 0.2x - 0.4
Solve that and get x = 2
Case 2.
0.1x - 0.2 = -1(0.2x - 0.4)
Solve that and get x = 2
So the solutions turned out to be the same.
That is an unusual occurrence. Usually there
are two solutions.
