You can put this solution on YOUR website! Subtracting a number can be expressed as adding the opposite.
The opposite of negative 2, "(-2)", is postive 2. (+2)
"Negative 1 plus Positive 2 = 1." (-1 + 2 = +1) Let's check on a number line.
-3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, Count your way from -1 two integers in the positve direction, you should end on +1.
The absolute value is also 1.
