You can put this solution on YOUR website!
|4-x|=3x
4-x=3x
4=3x+x
4=4x
x=4/4
x=1 ans
-|4-x|=3x
-4+x=3x
-4=3x-x
2x=-4
x=-4/2
x=-2 ans.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4-x=3x => 4=4x => x=1

-4+x=3x => 2x=-4 => x=-2, impossible

Verif : |4-1|=3=3*1, (|4+2|=6>0<>-2)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
|4-x|=3x
----------
4-x = 3x or 4-x = -3x
4x=4 or 2x = -4
x = 1 or x = -2
------------------
x cannot be -2 as that would make the left side = -6.
But |4-x| is never negative.

Only solution: x = 1
