Question 280251: Hello,
I am trying to solve this equation:
|3.5z| > |7|
(absolute value of 3.5z is greater than absolute value of 7)
I know how to solve when absolute value is on the left hand side, but what do you do when both sides have an absolute value?
Thanks,

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I am trying to solve this equation:
|3.5z| > |7|
(absolute value of 3.5z is greater than absolute value of 7)
I know how to solve when absolute value is on the left hand side, but what do you do when both sides have an absolute value?
--------------------------
That |7| is 7 since there is no variable involved.
---
|3.5z| > 7
3.5z > 7 or 3.5z < -7
z > 2 or z < -2
--------------------------
Take a look at the graphs:
