You can put this solution on YOUR website!
abs%28-4x%29=32 Start with the given equation

Break up the absolute value (remember, if you have abs%28x%29=a, then x=-a or x=a)

-4x=-32 or -4x=32 Set the expression -4x equal to the original value 32 and it's opposite -32

Now lets focus on the first equation -4x=-32

x=%28-32%29%2F%28-4%29 Divide both sides by -4 to isolate x

x=8 Divide

Now lets focus on the second equation -4x=32

x=%2832%29%2F%28-4%29 Divide both sides by -4 to isolate x

x=-8 Divide

So the solutions to abs%28-4x%29=32 are:

x=8 or x=-8
