Question 1068008: what is the differene between square root and squared?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! when you square a number, you are multiplying it by itself.
when you take the square root of a number, you are finding the number that, when squared, is equal to the number.
these are opposite sides of the same coin.
an example:
2^2 is equal to 2 * 2 which is equal to 4
square root of 4 is 2 because 2 * 2 = 4.
