I am a student at Stanford University.
*[youtube lMlyispIfhs] After a quick reminder of how the absolute value works, I show the graph of y=|x|. This graph is easy to explain: when x is positive, |x|=x so we have part of the graph y=x. When x is negative, |x|=-x so we have part of the graph y=-x. Other absolute value functions may be graphed based on this basic one: y=|x|. We shift where the corner is based on what specific function we have. Then we draw lines out of the corner with the appropriate slope.
