In this video lesson, I explain how to solve the most basic type of absolute value equations. Specifically, I solve examples involving up to two absolute value bars, by looking at cases when the inside of the absolute value should be multiplied by negative one and not. This idea comes from the formal definition of an absolute value- it returns what is inside, if it is positive, or the opposite of what was inside, if it is negative. This give two options.
