3000 cu in of water changed the volume from 1/4 to 2/3 so:
2/3-1/4=8/12-3/12=5/12=3000 cu in
If 3000 cu in is 5/12, capacity is (3000 cu in)/(5/12)=7200 cu in.
ANSWER: The capacity of the tank is 7200 cubic inches.
