The volume of a rectangular prism is calculated as
Volume+=+%22%28+base%22 area %22%29%22%2A%28height%29 .
NOTE: you have to use the same units, as in using inches for the height, square inches for the base area and cubic inches for the volume.
Luckily you have the volume in cubic centimeters and the base area in square inches, so the formula can be used to give you the height in inches.
If you had the volume in cubic centimeters and the base area in square inches you would have to convert one or the other to have the same units.
Volume+=+%22%28+base%22 area %22%29%22%2A%28height%29
2400+=+%28400%29%2A%28height%29
2400%2F400=height
height=6 , in inches, of course.
