Question 92690: I am really bad at solving word problems. I am not sure how to make the equation and then solve it. Please help me.
The volume of the box is represented by %28x%5E2%2B5x%2B6%29%28x%2B5%29 Find the polynomial that represents the area of the bottom of the box.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We need further information ....
V+=+lwh the sides would be seperate polynomials
V+=+%28x%5E2%2B5x%2B6%29%28x%2B5%29
V+=+%28x%2B2%29%28x%2B3%29%28x%2B5%29
(x+2) and (x+3) and (x+5) are your sides of the box ... but, which are the length and width?
Possibilities:
(x+2)(x+3)
or
(x+2)(x+5)
or
(x+5)(x+3)
... If you are centered on the volume equation, I would assume:
V+=+A%28h%29 where A is the area and h is the height
A+=+%28x%5E2%2B5x%2B6%29
