You can put this solution on YOUR website!

find the volume of one block of wood
V=75cm%2A50cm%2A40cm
V=150000cm%5E3
convert to m%5E3: 1cm%5E3=0.000001m%5E3
150000cm%5E3=+150000%2A0.000001m%5E3
150000cm%5E3=+0.15m%5E3

so, the volume of one block of wood is 0.15m%5E3
cubes of side 0.1m have the volume of
0.1m%2A0.1m%2A0.1m=0.001m%5E3
now divide 0.15m%5E3 by 0.001m%5E3

0.15m%5E3%2F0.001m%5E3=0.15%2F0%2F001=150
so, highlight%28150%29 cubes of side 0.1m can be carved out of it

I thought to do the same calculation as the other tutor, but notice that one dimension of the large block is 75cm, and that the cubes to be carved have sides equal to 10cm. So 10cm will divide evenly into 70cm but not 75cm. Therefore, we can say +N+%3E=+140. I did not have the time (or method) to check if there is a geometric arrangement of the carvings that allows for a few more cubes to be carved but certainly +N+%3C+150+, no?
