*[youtube bgVu6wBrkEg] In this video lesson, I explain how to calculate the volumes of cylinders and prisms. First of all, a prism is a three dimensional shape: it consists of two identical bases that are connected by lines. Any polygon can be "pulled out" of your paper to make a prism with that base. A cylinder is the same, but the bases are both circles - it looks like a pipe. The volumes for all of these shapes are the area of the base times the height. I solve some example problems in the video: for more details, watch it.
