magnitude of vector v = |v|
= square root of (2)
theta = 135 degrees places it in quadrant 2 where x is negative and y is positive
note |v| = square root of (2) = square root ( x^2 + y^2 ) = square root ( (-1^2) + 1^2 )
therefore the x-component is -1
