Question 735088: Am I allowed to simple ask for assistance into understanding the concept of vectors in Mathematics? Does this site work like that? I kind of missed the whole stage of learning about vectors and I'm unable to do numerous questions due to lack of knowledge and understanding. What are vectors and what is a vector space? How would one, in a simple generalised form of instruction, go about trying to prove whether something is or isnt a vector space? So lost.

A vector has magnitude and direction used to represent velocity, acceleration or momentum of an object. You can then see that we need a coordinate system to provide us with a grid to plot direction and calculate magnitude.
