Question 853833: Sketch a triangle that has acute angle θ, and find the other five trigonometric ratios of θ.
sin(θ)= 3/5
I don't need the sketch. I can't figure the five trigonometric ratios. Very confusing chapter. Please help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Sketch a triangle that has acute angle θ, and find the other five trigonometric ratios of θ.
sin(θ)= 3/5
------
Note: EVERY trip function gives you two of the variables: x,y and r
Using r^2 = x^2 + y^2 you can figure out the missing variable.
With the 3 variables you can figure out the 6 functions.
---
Your Problem::
sin = y/r, so y = 3 and r = 5
The x = sqrt(5^2-3^2) = 4
------
sin = y/r = 3/5
cos = x/r = 4/5
tan = y/x = 3/4
-----
csc = r/y = 5/3
sec = r/x = 5/4
cot = x/y = 4/3
-----------------------
cheers,
Stan H.
