To answer this remember that Positive angles are measured counterclockwise
, and negative angles are measured clockwise. So what you have from the question is a right angled triangle with an angle of 30 degrees and an opposite side of 7 ft. This is a trigonometry problem mostly.
The adjacent side of the angle which incidentally is the length of the rectangle can be calculated as follows
Tan theta = Opposite side/Adjacent side
therefore Tan 30 = 7/Adjacent side
thus the Adjacent side = 7/Tan 30 = 7 root(3) ;this is the exact value
there fore the area of the rectangle is 7 root (3) * 7 = 49 root(3) sq.ft
