Question 787084: find the height of a kite directly above a boy if the angle of elevation of the kite from another boy, 26 ft from the first boy, is 18 degrees Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Right angled triangle.
Base side = 26 ft
Angle of elevation = 18 degrees
Vertical side is height of kite
above a boy.
Tan x = Opposite/ Adjacent
Tan 18 = Opposite/26 ft
Opposite side = Tan (18) * 26
Opposite side = 8.5 ft
Height above boy = 8.5 ft
Hope this helps.
