Question 757774: a flag stands in the centre of a field that measures 5 by 6.5. What is the distance of the base of the flagpole from each corner of the feild. Answer by sachi(548) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The flag stands in the centre of a field that measures 5 by 6.5the side along with diagonal of the field makes a right angled triangle
so diagonal=sqrt(6^2+6.5^2) =8.84 by pythagores theorem
now the flag is at the centre
so the required distance=1/2D=1/2*8.84=4.42
