Use the distance formula:
diffy%5E2+%2B+diffx%5E2+=+5
1%5E2+%2B+%28x-3%29%5E2+=+5
%28x-3%29%5E2+=+4
x-3 = 2 --> x = 5
------------
x-3 = -2 --> x = 1
