By using pythagorean's theorem, we find that the other leg is 15 units





Since sin%28x%29=opposite%2Fadjacent this means x=arcsin%288%2F17%29 (notice how the arcsine gives you an angle)

Now remember cos%28x%29=adjacent%2Fhypotenuse and sec%28x%29=1%2Fcos%28x%29=hypotenuse%2Fadjacent (note: the secant and cosine functions are reciprocals of each other)


So sec%28x%29=17%2F15


which also means

sec%28arcsin%288%2F17%29%29=17%2F15
