You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The possible rational roots are the numbers of the form p/q or -p/q, where p and q are integers, and where p is a factor of the constant term and q is a factor of the leading coefficient.

In your example, the factors of the constant term are 1 and 2; the factors of the leading coefficient are 1, 2, 3, and 6. So the possible rational roots are (+ or -):
 1/1 = 1
 2/1 = 2
 1/2
 2/2 (same as 1/1)
 1/3
 2/3
 1/6
 2/6 (same as 1/3)
