You can put this solution on YOUR website! the high value of g(x) = 5.
the low value of g(x) = -1.
the amplitude is therefore equal to 6/2 = 3.
since f(x) = cos(x), and g(x) appears to have the same shape and the same period, with the exception that it's range is 3 * as much and it's midpoint is 2 units higher, then the equation of g(x) is probably 3 * cos(x) + 2.
that would give it an amplitude of 3 and it's midpoint would be at y = 2.
the midpoint is at y = 2 because 5 - 3 = 2 and -1 + 3 = 2.
in other words, the midpoint is halfway between the high value and the low value of the function.
