In this video lesson I explain the properties of the midpoints of a triangle. Specifically, when the midpoints of a triangle are connected with lines, these are called "midsegments." The midsgements are parallel to one of the sides of the triangle and have length equal to half that of the corresponding parallel side. I apply this to several examples in order to calculate some lengths. The last example shows that the midsegments of a triangle actually separate it into 4 congruent triangles.
