In this video lesson I explain the third part of SOH-CAH-TOA: the TOA. These three letters stand for "tangent equals to opposite over adjacent". This means that, in a right triangle, the tangent of an angle is equal to the length of the opposite side to the angle divided by the length of the adjacent side. Note, that the the tangent function, usually written as "tan," is just a button on your calculator; kind of like the square root or the square of a number. It also has an "inverse", labelled as "tan^-1." For more details, see the video.
