Question 715071: An isosceles triangle has a base of 10 and legs of 13. Another isosceles triangle has legs of length 13, but has a different base. The triangles have the same area. What is the length of the base of the second triangle?
I found the area of the first triangle by splitting it in half and using the Pythagoreum theorem to find the height.
5^2+h^2=13^2
25+h^2=169
H^2=144
H=12
1/2(10)(12)=60

The three sides of a triangle are given by three consecutive integers. If the perimeter is 12 meters, find the length of each side.
This is how am trying to solve it not so sure, any help please! thanks. The answer from the book is 3,4,5 and i only get 3,3,3. what am i doing wrong?
3x+(x)=12 3(x)+3=12
4x=12 3x=9
x=3 x=3

Hopefully you are very fine. Your previous solution worked very well. Now I am asking for another solution.
If I have the length of the base of a triagle, an obtuse angle adjacent to the base and the difference between the other two sides of the traingle, how can I draw the triangle.
