Question 941423: A right triangle has an area of 60 cm2. The base of the triangle is 15 cm long. What is the length of the hypotenuse of the right triangle? Answer by srinivas.g(540) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! area of triangle = 60 cm^2
base = 15 cm
formula: area =
multiply with 2 on both sides
divide with 15 on both sides
height = 8 cm
as per Pythagorean theorem
base^2+height^2= hypotenuse^2
15^2+8^2= height^2
225+64 = height^2
289 = height^2
height^2 = 289
height = 17 cm
Result : height =17 cm
