Question 898438: I have been working with 30-60-90 & 45-45-90 triangles. I have a few problems where they just give me lengths of the sides of a triangle & i have to determine which type of triangle it is (45-45-90 or 30-60-90) or neither . My first one says 40,50,80 . I don't know how to find that out and there are no pictures either

How you solve it depends on what you have learned so far.
Do you know the relationship of sides in isosceles right triangles 45-45-90?
Are two sides equal?
Do you know the relationship of sides in 30-60-90 right triangles?
Is one side 2x another side?
Can a triangle with sides 40,50,80 have a 90 degree angle?
Use Pythagorean formula.
