Question 832166: If, in triangle ABC, angle B equals 60 degrees and AB > AC then...?

Since AB > AC, this means that C > B (a drawing will show that C is opposite to AB and B is opposite to AC)

Now plug in B = 60 (given) to go from

C > B

to

C > 60

which means that C is some angle that is larger than 60 degrees. Keep in mind that C must also be less than 180 - 60 = 120 degrees in order for all three angles to add to 180 degrees.

So we know that C > 60 and C < 120. Put this together to get this restriction on angle C

60 < C < 120

Which effectively says "C is some angle between 60 degrees and 120 degrees (excluding both endpoints)"
