Question 822014: i need your help to solve this problem: if the side lengths of a triangle are 4, 15, 25, the triangle is a?
a. an obtuse triangle
b. an acute triangle
c. a right triangle
d. cannot be formed Answer by Edwin McCravy(20054) (Show Source):
We use the fact that in a triangle,
the longest side must be shorter than the sum of the two
shorter sides.
So since the sume of the two shorter sides would be 4+15=19,
and 25 is NOT shorter than 19, no triangle can be formed.
