Using Pythagorean theorem
%28x%2B9%29%5E2%2B%28x%2B2%29%5E2=%28x%2B10%29%5E2
Expanding
%28x%5E2%2B18x%2B81%29%2B%28x%5E2%2B4x%2B4%29=%28x%5E2%2B20x%2B100%29
simplified
x%5E2%2B2x-15=0
using quadratic formula
x=+-5or+x=3
If x is -5 than the base would be -3 and you can't have a negative distance...
So x=3
