Question 673971: You are asked to put a V-shaped roof on a house. The slope of the roof is 40 degrees. What is the measure of the angle needed at the vertex of the roof?
There was two questions before this with bold lettering that said:
Use the properties of isosceles triangles to complete each statement.
I don't know if you use that for the question I asked, but I think it goes with it.
Thanks so much for any help, I really appreciate it!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are asked to put a V-shaped roof on a house. The slope of the roof is 40 degrees. What is the measure of the angle needed at the vertex of the roof?
-----
Draw a picture of a cross-section of the roof.
You have an isosceles triangle with 2 base angles that are 40 degrees.
------
The sum of the angles of a triangle are 180 degrees.
--------
Equation:
Let the vertex angle be "x":
-----
x + 40 + 40 = 180
x = 100 degrees
