right angle triangle:

IF as shown above where x and y are the complementary angles of this right triangle

Question states***  angle x is twice angle y  y+=+highlight%28x%2F2%29

  x+%2B+x%2F2 = 90°  |Multiplying thru by 2 so as all denominators = 1

     2x + x = 180°

       3x = 180°

        x = 60°   and y = 30°
