Question 661245: The perimeter of a triangle is 51 centimeters. The lengths of it's sides are consecutive odd integers. Find the lengths of all three sides.
We haven't gone over this in class, but we got it for HW! I don't understand it! This is from a consecutive integer worksheet.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be the smallest of the three consecutive odd integers. Then the next two odd integers are x+2 and x+4. If these are the sides of a triangle with perimeter 51, then we have:
x+%2B+%28x%2B2%29+%2B+%28x%2B4%29+=+51
3x+%2B+6+=+51
3x+=+45
x+=+15
So the three sides are 15, 17, and 19.
