Question 57973: 108. Area of a sail. A triangular sail has as area of x^2+5x+6 square meters and the height of x+3 meters find the length of the sails base. Area = x^2 +5x+6m^2 Answer by jaya_rohith1@yahoo.com(33) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Area of the sail = x^2+5x+6
Height = x+3
Area of the triangle = 1/2 * base * height
x^2+5x+6 = 1/2 * base * x+3
Base = 2(x^2+5x+6)/(x+3)
= 2(x+2)(x+3)/(x+3)
= 2(x+2)
