Question 549646: How do you find the perimiter simalrity ratio when alll your given is the area for both triangles? Answer by KMST(5328) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If two figures (triangles or whatever shape) are similar, perimeters and corresponding lengths have the same ratio. The ratio of the areas is the square of the ratio of the lengths. So if two triangles are similar and the area of one is 4 times the area of the other, the lengths of the sides of the larger triangle are 2 times the lengths of the corresponding sides in the smaller triangle. In the drawing, comparing the large triangle with the half size triangles inside,
side ratio=perimeter=2 area ratio=4
In general side ratio = perimeter ratio
