Question 1952: One more....and I will give you a break from this stuff. :)
A triangular sail has an area of x^2+5x+6 square meters and a height of x+3 meters. Find the length of the sail's base.
I got this so far:
Area=x^2+5x+6m^2....I am not exactly sure if it's right or what to do from here.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
area of triangle = (1/2)base x height
x%5E2%2B5x%2B6 = (1/2)b(x+3)
2%28x%5E2%2B5x%2B6%29 = (x+3)b
therefore b = %282%28x%5E2%2B5x%2B6%29%29%2F%28x%2B3%29
= %282%28x%2B3%29%28x%2B2%29%29%2F%28x%2B3%29
= 2(x+2)
i am out of here - bed calling!
