The ratio of lengths of corresponding sides of the two similar triangles is 6.5:10.4 = 5:8.

That is then the ratio of ANY linear measurements between the two triangles, including the perimeters. So

5:8 = 40:x
5x = 320
x = 64

The perimeter of triangle PQR is 64cm.

If ∆ ABC ~ ∆ PQR
recall: Similar triangles have corresponding angles and corresponding sides.
then, the perimeter of ∆ ABC+ and the perimeter of ∆ PQR are proportional too
if AB+=+6.5cm corresponds to PQ=+10.4cm, then ratio is
AB%2FPQ=6.5cm%2F10.4cm=0.625

and the perimeter of ∆ ABC+=+60cm
the perimeter of ∆ ABC%2FPQR=60cm%2F0.625=96cm
